Surprise E.max Lithium Disilicate Crown

E.max lithium disilicate has become the anterior and premolar workhorse for good reason: flexural strength around 400 MPa, translucency that reads as natural enamel under operatory lighting, and a firing protocol that rewards precision. Surprise practices sending cases to Dani Dental receive layered or stain-and-glaze e.max restorations built from Ivoclar IPS e.max CAD or press blocks, depending on the clinical scenario you specify on the Rx.

THE DETAIL

How we build it.

Large national-network labs processing thousands of units per week route your e.max case through a production queue where the technician who stained it has no accountability link back to your practice. Turnaround windows are posted as ranges, and shade escalations go through a customer-service layer. That model works at volume. It does not work when your patient is a teacher in Surprise who gave you three appointments and needs the crown to match a lateral that was restored 10 years ago. Dani Dental operates at a different scale by design. Named-technician accountability means the ceramist finishing your e.max crown also takes your shade call. The Dobrikov family has been at the bench since the Arizona practice opened in 1993, and that continuity shows in case consistency. Our internal remake rate sits below 2.5%, tracked across all crown units since 2023. Regional boutique labs in the Phoenix metro may offer comparable personal service, but most do not carry the digital intake infrastructure to accept intraoral scan files from all three major IOS platforms without a conversion step. For West Valley practices specifically, geography used to mean slower turnaround from Scottsdale or Tempe-based labs. Our courier network covers Surprise, Sun City West, Peoria, and El Mirage on the same daily pickup schedule as central Phoenix. You do not pay a West Valley surcharge, and you do not wait an extra day.

GETTING CASES TO US

Logistics, to the bench.

Intraoral scan files from iTero, Medit, or 3Shape drop directly into our digital workflow. No PVS impression required, though we accept conventional when the clinical situation calls for it. Every case gets a named bench technician assigned at intake, so if your contacts are off or you need a shade consult before we fire, you reach that technician directly, not a general inbox. Response within 4 business hours during production days. For Surprise dentists working in a high-volume cosmetic or restorative environment, this matters: a single miscommunication on a B1 versus BL2 shade can burn 45 minutes of chair time on a re-appointment. We flag ambiguous shade requests before firing, not after. Cases shipping to the Surprise 85374 and surrounding West Valley zip codes go out via next-day courier by default, with tracking pushed to your front desk email at label creation.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What practices ask

Do you accept intraoral scan files from Surprise practices, or do we need to send a physical impression?
We accept digital files from iTero, Medit, and 3Shape directly, with no conversion step required. Physical PVS or polyether impressions are also accepted when the clinical situation calls for it. For Surprise-area practices, digital intake cuts the turnaround window by roughly one day compared to impression shipping. Include your prep margin annotation in the scan file or note it on the Rx and we handle the rest.
What is your standard turnaround for a single-unit e.max crown shipped to the West Valley?
Five business days from confirmed scan receipt to ship date for a standard single-unit e.max stain-and-glaze case. Layered cases requiring additional ceramic build run 7 business days. Rush 3-day service is available on select cases, confirmed at intake. Surprise and surrounding West Valley zip codes are on the same daily courier pickup as central Phoenix, so no extra transit day is added.
Which e.max block or press material do you use, and can I specify?
We work with Ivoclar IPS e.max CAD for milled restorations and IPS e.max Press for pressed cases. You can specify on the Rx, or note the clinical indication and let the assigned technician recommend. High-translucency (HT) blocks for anterior cases, low-translucency (LT) for posterior or high-occlusal-load situations. If you have a shade-matching scenario that pushes toward layered ceramic over a lithium disilicate core, note that and we will discuss options before committing to a firing.
How does named-technician accountability work in practice?
At case intake, a specific bench technician is assigned to your restoration. Their direct line and case-specific notes go to your front desk with the confirmation email. If you have a shade question, a margin clarification, or a concern mid-production, you call or text that technician directly. No customer-service relay. During production hours, technicians respond within 4 business hours. That accountability loop is the same whether you are a single-location practice in Surprise or a multi-operatory group.
What is your remake policy if the crown does not seat or the shade is off?
If a crown does not seat due to a lab fabrication error or arrives with a shade outside the specified range, we remake at no charge. We ask for the original crown returned with a photograph and a brief clinical note describing the discrepancy. Turnaround on approved remakes is treated as a priority case. Our internal remake rate across all crown units since 2023 sits below 2.5%, so this process is rarely needed, but the path is clear when it is.
Can Surprise dentists order an e.max crown as part of a larger implant or multi-unit case?
Yes. E.max crowns on implant abutments, as part of a quadrant reconstruction, or alongside removable or hybrid cases are all handled in the same intake workflow. Note the full case scope on the Rx so the assigned technician can flag any sequencing considerations early. Multi-unit cases involving e.max and zirconia in the same arch are common in our production queue and do not require separate case submissions.
