What scan formats does Dani Dental accept for custom abutment design?
We accept STL and PLY files from iTero, 3Shape, Medit, Carestream, and most other major intraoral scanners. CBCT DICOM data can also be submitted for cases requiring bone-level reference. If you are unsure whether your scanner's export format is compatible, contact your assigned technician directly and we will confirm within 4 business hours.
How does the 5-business-day turnaround work for Scottsdale accounts?
The clock starts when your approved scan file is received and the case is logged in our system, not when you send the email. Cases received before noon Arizona time on a business day are logged same day. Expedited turnaround of 3 business days is available by direct arrangement with your technician; availability depends on current production load.
Do you support titanium base abutments as well as fully milled options?
Yes. We fabricate both full-contour milled zirconia abutments and titanium base designs bonded to a zirconia or PMMA superstructure. The material recommendation depends on the implant system, the emergence zone, and the planned crown material. Your technician will flag the preferred path when reviewing the scan file.
What implant systems do you work with?
We work with Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Zimmer Biomet, BioHorizons, Osstem, Hiossen, and most other major platforms. If your case involves a less common system, send us the implant library file or the system details and we will confirm compatibility before accepting the case.
How is the remake policy handled if the abutment does not seat correctly?
If a custom abutment does not seat correctly and the issue is attributable to the design or fabrication, we remake at no charge. We ask that you send the abutment back with a brief note from the placing clinician describing where the fit broke down. The named technician on the original case handles the evaluation and the remake, not a separate review team.
Can Scottsdale DSO groups consolidate multi-location abutment orders under one account?
Yes. Multi-location DSO accounts can be set up under a single billing and production account, with each location tracked as a sub-account.
