Avondale Sports Mouth Guard

Avondale sits within one of the West Valley's most active youth and adult recreation corridors. THE DETAIL

How we build it.

National-network labs that process thousands of appliance cases per week route sports guards through standardized production tracks. Fit is assumed if the impression scanned cleanly. There is no named technician, no direct line, and no one who remembers case number 4,872 when you call about a redo. That system works at scale. It does not work when your patient is a 14-year-old linebacker whose guard is shipping the week before playoffs. Dani Dental operates on a different model. The technician who builds the guard reads the case notes, checks occlusal clearance against the articulated model, and ships the guard with their direct contact information. If something is off, you call that person, not a general inbox. Response in two hours or less during business hours is a stated commitment, not a hope. For Avondale practices where chair time is scheduled tightly and a remake means a rescheduled appointment, that accountability structure has a measurable cost impact. On price: custom sports guards from Dani Dental are priced transparently, with no procurement portal, no tiered contract requirement, and no minimum case volume to access the direct-technician workflow. A solo general practice in Avondale placing four guards a month gets the same bench-level attention as a multi-location group. That is a deliberate policy, not a marketing line.

GETTING CASES TO US

Logistics, to the bench.

Avondale sits within one of the West Valley's most active youth and adult recreation corridors. Estrella Mountain Ranch, the Goodyear Ballpark complex nearby, and a dense network of club soccer and football programs mean a steady patient base that carries real occlusal risk on the field. A stock boil-and-bite guard absorbs some force. A properly fabricated dual-laminate or single-layer EVA guard, built over an accurate digital model of that patient's arch, distributes impact force differently and fits tightly enough that athletes actually wear it for a full game rather than pulling it out at halftime. Dani Dental fabricates sports mouth guards from intraoral scans or poured PVS impressions, whichever your workflow prefers. Material options include single-layer EVA in 3 mm or 4 mm, dual-laminate configurations with a firmer inner layer and softer outer shell, and laminated custom guards in team colors on request. Each guard is trimmed and polished by the same technician who reviews the occlusal clearance, not a production-line handoff. Thickness and coverage specifications are confirmed before the case ships. For Avondale practices serving youth sports leagues or high school athletic programs, we can produce consistent guards in volume without sacrificing the individual fit review. If a coach or athletic trainer is coordinating impression collection for a team, we'll work with your front desk to batch the cases and return them on a coordinated schedule. Bulk does not mean anonymous. Each guard still carries a technician sign-off.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What practices ask

Do you accept intraoral scans for sports mouth guard cases, or is a physical impression required?
Digital scans are preferred. We accept STL files from any major intraoral scanner including iTero, 3Shape TRIOS, and Medit. If your Avondale practice is still on a PVS impression workflow, that works too. Pour the impression before shipping so we receive an accurate die rather than an unset material. Either path results in the same fabrication process and the same 3-to-5-day turnaround.
What materials do you use, and can we specify thickness?
We fabricate in single-layer EVA at 3 mm or 4 mm and dual-laminate configurations with a firmer polyolefin inner core and a softer EVA outer layer. Thickness, coverage length, and palatal extension are all specifiable on the case form. If the patient is a contact-sport athlete, we typically recommend dual-laminate at 4 mm buccal coverage. If you have a specific protocol, note it on the case and the technician will follow it.
Can you fabricate guards in team colors for a youth sports program?
Yes. Laminated guards are available in a range of EVA color stock. For team orders, send us the school or league colors and we'll match from available material. We do not offer custom-printed logos on the guard surface, but color-matched material is standard. Batch team orders of 10 or more cases can be coordinated on a shared return schedule, which simplifies distribution at the practice.
What is the turnaround time for a rush case?
Standard production is 3 to 5 business days from the day the scan or impression arrives at the lab. Rush service, with a 48-hour bench turnaround, is available for an additional fee. Contact the technician directly to confirm capacity before submitting. If a patient has an event in fewer than 48 hours, call before submitting so we can give you an honest answer rather than a missed promise.
How is fit verified before the guard ships?
The fabricating technician seats the finished guard on the working model and checks occlusal clearance, incisal coverage, and posterior extension before the case is packaged. If anything falls outside the prescribed spec, the guard is remade before it leaves the lab. This review happens on every case, not as a spot check. The technician's sign-off is included in the case paperwork that ships with the appliance.
We are a new account with no prior Dani Dental relationship. How do we get started?
Call or email us to set up an account. No minimum volume, no contract requirement, and no waiting period. On your first case we'll confirm receipt, assign the bench technician, and send you their direct contact information. If you want to do a single test case before committing any volume, that is a normal way to start and we are fine with it. Avondale-area practices typically have their first completed case back within one week of account setup.
