For hard acrylic splints, Dani Dental uses a heat-pressure thermoforming and pour-acrylic hybrid process depending on design complexity. Flat-plane stabilization splints are fabricated on articulated stone models using Panadent or Whip Mix articulators, mounted with your bite registration or intraoral scan data. Occlusal contacts are verified at each arch with articulating film to meet bilateral simultaneous contact targets before polishing. The finished surface is high-gloss polished to reduce soft-tissue irritation and plaque accumulation on the palatal and anterior coverage zones. If the case came in as an intraoral scan file through 3Shape Communicate or Dental Wings, the digital file is archived for 24 months so a replacement can be milled or pressed without a new impression.

Michigan-style flat-plane cases default to Whip Mix fully adjustable mounting when a face-bow transfer is included. Cases without a face-bow are mounted in average-value position unless your prescription specifies otherwise.
What splint designs does Dani Dental fabricate?
Current production covers flat-plane hard acrylic stabilization splints (Michigan style), dual-laminate soft-hard guards, NTI-style anterior contact deprogrammers, Gelb-style anterior repositioning appliances, and full-coverage lower arch guards. Soft-only vinyl guards are available for athletic use cases. If your design falls outside these categories, call the lab before submitting; custom designs are evaluated case by case and typically require a written protocol.
What is the standard turnaround, and is a rush option available?
Standard turnaround is 5 business days from the date Dani Dental receives a usable impression or confirmed scan file. A 48-hour rush option is available for hard acrylic flat-plane splints when the order is confirmed by 9 AM Arizona time. Rush cases carry an additional fabrication fee noted on the current fee schedule. Dual-laminate and repositioning appliances are not eligible for the 48-hour window because the laminate bond requires a full pressure-processing cycle.
How does Dani Dental handle a case where the bite registration and impression do not agree?
The assigned technician contacts your office within 4 business hours of identifying the discrepancy. The call goes to the number on the Rx form. You will speak with the technician on the case, not a customer service relay. The two most common resolutions are: retaking the bite registration and shipping it separately, or authorizing the technician to mount in maximum intercuspation and note the deviation on the delivery form so you can adjust chairside.
What acrylic materials does Dani Dental use for hard splints?
Hard acrylic splints are fabricated using heat-cured polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) in clear or tinted options depending on your Rx. Curing follows a programmed pressure-pot cycle, not a cold-cure bench process, which reduces porosity and surface crazing over the appliance life. If your patient has a documented acrylic monomer sensitivity, note it on the Rx and the technician will flag material alternatives before fabrication begins.
Does Dani Dental fabricate appliances for implant-supported arches?
Yes, with a modification to the standard workflow. Implant-supported arches require that your Rx note the implant positions, prosthetic platform type, and whether the opposing dentition is natural or prosthetic. Night guards opposing a full-arch implant prosthesis are designed with harder acrylic thickness and broader contact distribution to reduce point-load stress on the implant prosthesis. Scan files for these cases should include the prosthetic contours, not the tissue-level scan.
How are completed splint cases packaged and shipped?
Every completed appliance ships in a rigid case with a patient label, your case number, the technician's direct phone number, and a one-paragraph adjustment note flagging any fit observations from the final inspection. Shipping is via FedEx overnight by default; ground options are available for non-rush cases at your request. Digital scan files used to fabricate the appliance are archived for 24 months, so a replacement can be produced without a new impression if the original is lost or damaged.
