Every mandibular advancement device case begins with a prescription review, not a blank intake form. The Dani Dental MAD workflow starts when the prescribing dentist submits protrusive measurement, maximum protrusive range, target advancement percentage, and vertical dimension at the bite registration. That clinical information drives the construction bite, not the other way around. If the bite registration arrives without a protrusive record or with ambiguous vertical, the technician assigned to the case calls the prescribing office before fabrication begins. Dani Dental fabricates MADs using thermoplastic and hard acrylic materials depending on the advancement mechanism selected at prescription. The two primary builds are a dual-arch titratable design with a screw-advancement mechanism supporting increments between 0.25 mm and 0.5 mm per turn, and a fixed-position monobloc design for patients where titration is complete and a stable final position has been confirmed. Material selection, hardware specification, and retention design are confirmed during case intake. There is no default build that ships without a confirmed prescription. Digital workflows are accepted and preferred. Intraoral scan files from iTero, 3Shape Trios, Medit, and Carestream arrive via Dani Dental's secure file transfer portal and route to the MAD technician within one business day of receipt. For practices still working with PVS impressions, Dani pours models in-house and retains the pour record with the case file. Bite registration accuracy is assessed against the submitted protrusive measurement before any material is adapted; cases where the registration conflicts with the protrusive record are flagged before production continues. Every completed MAD ships with a fit and delivery checklist written for the chairside team, a titration log template the dentist can hand directly to the patient, and the direct extension of the technician who built the case. Adjustments requested within 30 days of delivery are handled at no additional charge. That is not a warranty clause buried in a terms document. It is the stated expectation the Dani team works to.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What dentists ask about Mandibular Advancement Device

What bite registration technique does Dani Dental require for MAD fabrication?
Dani Dental requires a protrusive bite registration taken at 50-75% of the patient's maximum protrusive range, along with a separate centric occlusion record. A George Gauge or equivalent protrusive measurement device reading must accompany the registration. Cases submitted without a protrusive measurement are flagged before fabrication begins and the technician contacts the practice to resolve it before production continues.
Do you accept intraoral scans for MAD cases, or do you require physical impressions?
Digital scans are accepted and preferred. Dani Dental's portal accepts scan files from iTero Element, 3Shape Trios, Medit i700, and Carestream CS 3600. Files are routed to the MAD technician within one business day of receipt. Physical PVS impressions are also accepted. Dani pours models in-house and retains the pour record with the case file for the full retention period.
What is the standard turnaround time for a mandibular advancement device?
Standard turnaround is 5 business days from the date the case is accepted, meaning the bite registration, protrusive record, and prescription are all received and confirmed. Rush turnaround of 3 business days is available for an additional fee. Turnaround clock starts on the acceptance date, not the shipping date, so transit time is separate. Dani ships via FedEx overnight by default on all MAD cases.
Which MAD designs does Dani Dental fabricate?
Dani fabricates two standard MAD builds. The titratable dual-arch design uses a screw-advancement mechanism with 0.25-0.5 mm increments per adjustment and supports a 2-4 mm total titration range without appliance modification. The fixed monobloc design is appropriate when the patient's optimal advancement position has been confirmed through titration. Custom designs based on dentist specification are reviewed case by case.
What happens if the MAD does not fit at delivery?
Any fit issue reported within 30 days of delivery is resolved at no additional charge, including remake if the adjustment cannot be done chairside. The technician who built the case is identified in the shipping documentation, and that technician handles the follow-up directly. There is no general customer service queue for fit issues on active cases. Response on fit calls is within 3 business hours of the practice's initial contact.
Can Dani Dental fabricate an MAD if I do not have digital scanning capability in my office?
Yes. Dani accepts PVS impressions for both upper and lower arches along with a physical bite registration. Impressions are poured in-house in high-strength dental stone. The pour record is retained with the case file. If impression quality is insufficient for accurate MAD fabrication, the technician contacts the practice before pouring, not after the model is already trimmed.
How should I communicate the titration range I want built into the appliance?
Include the target initial advancement percentage (typically 50-70% of maximum protrusive) and the desired total titration range on the prescription form. Dani's standard titratable build supports 2-4 mm of total forward adjustment. If your patient's maximum protrusive range is unusually limited, note that on the prescription. The technician will confirm the achievable range before fabrication and call if the measurements create a constraint.
Does Dani Dental work with dentists prescribing MADs for snoring only, or only for diagnosed OSA cases?
Dani fabricates MADs for both indications. The appliance build is identical whether the clinical indication is diagnosed obstructive sleep apnea or primary snoring. Documentation of clinical indication is the prescribing dentist's responsibility under their state dental board guidelines. Dani does not require a sleep study report to accept an MAD case, though we recommend dentists follow AADSM prescribing guidelines as their standard protocol.
