Hand-Layered Porcelain Veneers
Dani Dental has fabricated hand-layered porcelain veneers since the Arizona lab opened in 1993. Each veneer is built incrementally on a refractory die by a named technician, not assigned to a generic queue. Anterior cases that require 8 to 10 units ship in 10 business days or...

Every hand-layered porcelain veneer at Dani Dental starts with the Dani Shade Documentation Protocol. Before a single layer of feldspathic porcelain touches a die, the assigned technician reviews the full pre-op shade map: ambient lighting conditions documented by the referring clinician, natural tooth photos under standardized 5500K illumination, and any intraoral scan or prep scan supplied. If the intake packet is incomplete, the technician calls the practice within four business hours, not after fabrication has started. Prep dies are invested using a refractory die system compatible with the sintering schedules for the specific porcelain batch in use that week. Dani Dental uses IPS e.max Ceram and VITA VM 9 as the primary layering materials, selected based on the target value range and translucency requirements communicated at case intake. Each veneer is hand-layered in three to five incremental firing cycles, with internal characterization applied before the final wash layer. No veneer leaves the bench until the assigned technician has compared it against the pre-op shade map under two light sources. For cases requiring gingival-margin porcelain or Class IV incisal reconstruction, Dani Dental applies the same multi-fire sequence used for full-coverage anterior crowns. The logic is simple: a veneer with a visible incisal edge or a free gingival margin carries the same esthetic risk as a crown in the smile zone. Cutting corners on firing cycles at that margin is how remakes happen. Glaze and surface texture are applied by hand using rotary instruments and porcelain characterization stains before the final glaze fire. Surface texture is matched to the contralateral tooth whenever pre-op photos are available, which is why the photo intake checklist is not optional for anterior veneer cases. Cases without pre-op photos receive a standard surface texture based on age and arch position, documented in the case note. Every finished case ships with a printed shade and characterization card signed by the bench technician, the technician's direct extension, and a 48-hour call-back guarantee if the clinician has a seating concern. No anonymous lab portal ticket. The technician who built the case is the person who picks up the phone.
HOW IT IS BUILT
From prescription to seated case.

Send a scan file or a model with your RX. A technician reads your intent before any design begins.
Design & verify
We design to your margin and occlusion, then verify the fit against your prescription before it ships.
Build at the bench
Milled, pressed, or hand-layered as the case calls for, finished by a named technician.
Back to your chair
Pre-paid shipping returns the case ready to seat, with the technician reachable if anything needs an adjustment.
