Setting the expectation at delivery saves chair time later.

There is one clinical exception: some prosthodontists instruct patients to sleep in an immediate denture for the first 24-48 hours post-extraction to manage swelling and protect the surgical site. After that initial window, the standard removal protocol resumes.
