How the workflow actually runs
Guided implant surgery starts with three inputs: a CBCT scan of the patient's bone, an intraoral scan of the existing dentition or edentulous arch, and a prosthetic plan (the final crown, bridge, or full-arch position the surgeon and lab agree on). Those files merge in planning software (3Shape Implant Studio, coDiagnostiX, Blue Sky Plan, or the surgeon's preferred suite). The implant position gets driven by where the tooth needs to be, not where the bone happens to be easiest to drill.
