How is a hybrid prosthetic fabricated?

A hybrid prosthetic is fabricated in five stages: CBCT and intraoral scan capture, digital design of the titanium bar substructure, five-axis milling of the bar from a single titanium puck, individual tooth setup with prosthetic teeth or layered zirconia, and final processing with pink acrylic gingiva.

Why it works this way

The five-stage hybrid workflow

A screw-retained hybrid (often called an All-on-X fixed hybrid) starts with surgical records: a CBCT scan, an intraoral scan or verified PVS impression, and a verified bite. At Dani Dental those records route to a named technician on the implant team, Stefan Dobrikov or Ivo Petrov, whose direct line ships with the case. No anonymous CAD pipeline.

What is the difference between a hybrid prosthetic and an overdenture?
A hybrid is screw-retained and fixed: the patient cannot remove it, and the titanium bar is mechanically secured to multi-unit abutments. An overdenture is removable by the patient and retained by locator attachments or a bar-clip system on 2 to 4 implants. Hybrids carry full occlusal load through the bar; overdentures share load between implants and the residual ridge. Dani Dental fabricates both, with hybrids running 3 to 4 weeks lab time and bar overdentures running 2 to 3 weeks.
How long does a titanium bar take to mill?
Active mill time on a five-axis machine for a full-arch titanium bar runs 6 to 9 hours depending on geometry and cantilever length. At Dani Dental the bar is milled from a single grade-5 titanium puck, then verified against the master model before tooth setup begins. The mill time itself is a small fraction of the 3 to 4 week total: design verification, processing, and quality control take the remainder.
Can a hybrid prosthetic be repaired if a tooth fractures?
Yes. Because the prosthetic teeth are bonded to the titanium bar rather than monolithically milled with it, an individual fractured tooth can be replaced chairside or returned to the lab for repair without remaking the bar. Dani Dental turns hybrid tooth repairs in 3 to 5 business days. The named technician on the original case handles the repair, which preserves the shade and contour match from the original prescription.
