Denture fabrication has not changed in concept since the 1950s, but the workflow has. The traditional analog sequence runs: preliminary impression, custom tray, final impression, bite registration, wax rim and tooth setup, wax try-in, flask and pack with heat-cured acrylic, deflask, finish, polish, deliver. How long does a digital denture take at Dani Dental?

Standard turnaround on a digital denture is 7 to 10 business days from approved scan to delivery. That window covers CAD design, design approval by the referring dentist, milling the PMMA base, tooth bonding, finishing, and polish. Rush options are available for cases tied to a specific delivery date. The technician on the case is named on the work order and reachable directly during the design-approval phase, which is where most timing questions actually get resolved.

Milled PMMA versus 3D-printed denture base, which is better?

Milled PMMA from a pre-polymerized puck has higher density, lower residual monomer, and better long-term color stability than printed resins as of the current generation of materials. 3D-printed bases are faster and cheaper and have closed most of the strength gap, but for a definitive denture worn daily for years, milled PMMA remains the more durable choice. Printed dentures are excellent for try-ins, immediates, and backups. Dani Dental fabricates both depending on the case indication.

Can a denture be made from a single impression?

Yes, for most digital denture cases. A single well-captured intraoral scan or a single accurate physical impression with bite registration is enough to design and mill the final denture. Complex cases (severe resorption, neutral zone concerns, full-arch reconstruction tied to implants) may still benefit from a custom tray and final impression. The digital workflow eliminates the preliminary impression and custom tray steps that the analog path requires.
