A porcelain veneer starts the moment the prep impression or intraoral scan arrives at the lab. At Dani Dental, scans from iTero, Trios, or Medit upload directly into our CAD pipeline within an hour of receipt. PVS impressions get poured and digitized the same day. Stage one is verification: the technician reviews margins, occlusion, and the prescription shade against the patient photos before any design work begins.

How long do porcelain veneers take to fabricate at the lab?

Dani Dental's standard turnaround for anterior porcelain veneers is 7 business days from case receipt to ship date. That window covers verification, CAD design, pressing or layering, sintering, staining, glazing, and QC under D65 lighting. Rush turnaround is available on request, typically 4 business days for cases with documented event dates. Complex layered feldspathic cases on refractory dies run longer, usually 10 to 12 business days because each internal effect requires a separate firing cycle.

What's the difference between pressed and layered porcelain veneers?

Pressed veneers, typically lithium disilicate like IPS e.max, are fabricated as a monolithic restoration with surface stains for shade. They run around 400 MPa flexural strength per Ivoclar's published data and suit most anterior cases. Layered feldspathic veneers are built up on a refractory die in successive firings, letting the ceramist control internal translucency, mamelons, and halo effects for the highest-esthetic anterior cases. Layered work takes longer and costs more, but delivers detail pressed monolithic restorations cannot match.

Does Dani Dental accept digital scans for veneer cases?

Yes. Dani Dental accepts intraoral scans from iTero, Trios, Medit, and other major scanner platforms. Scan files upload directly into our CAD pipeline, typically within an hour of receipt, which shortens the design stage by a full day compared to PVS impression workflows. We still accept PVS impressions and pour them the same day they arrive. For shade-critical anterior veneer cases, we also recommend sending patient photos with a shade tab in frame under natural daylight.
